God is not the author of confusion (1 Corinthians 14:33), but there is a lot of confusion in the religious world regarding the number of churches that Christ built. One only needs to look in the bible for the truth about Christ and His church. According to Matthew 16:18, Christ is the builder and founder of only one church. Jesus said "I" will build "My" church and the gates of Hell will not prevail against "It." Jesus did not say I will build my churches. Jesus also did not say the gates of Hell will not prevail against them. The purpose of this sermon is to show that God has always had one, not a multiplicity of plans, for man's redemption.
