Satan, from the very beginning, even while he was an angel in Heaven has been waging a war against God. His pride as an angel and his desire to dethrone God got the best of him. As a result, he, and his fellow angels, whom he convinced to follow him, were casted down from Heaven. In 1 Peter 5:8, Peter describes him as a roaring lion walking about seeking whom he may devour. Satan's main target is the church, the people of God, and he is coming after us with his lies, tricks, disguises, schemes, and worldly attractions to bring us down and to discredit God. This sermon is to point out ways Satan attacks the church and to provide some familiar, yet practical ways the church can fight back. Note: there is an honest mistake in this sermon. I said that Peter betrayed Jesus for thirty pieces of silver. It was not Peter, it was Judas. I meant to say that Peter denied Christ three times.
